Kappa demon of the swamp
made with rotring marker watercolor pencils a brush and a lot of love
A
kappa (Ilum Illuminated, "river boy"), Also known as kawatarō (川 太郎?),
Komahiki (駒. Illuminated "pushes horses"?) And kawatora (太郎. Illuminated
"river tiger") , is a variety of yōkai or demon that belongs to the
Japanese folklore that lives in rivers or lakes. Its name is a
combination of the words kawa (river) and wappa, a variant of warawa
(童), which translates as "boy". Shintoists consider him a suijin, an
aquatic deity, as well as one of his temporary appearances. In Japanese
Buddhism, kappa is considered a species of hungry ogres.
